Your receiver may not be working (collecting data/votes) because it is not the default device the software 'listens' to.
If you arrive to a polling slide and suddenly, without voting on the keypads, you see 50 votes in the Vote Counter, you should check your "Input Source" because it's likely set to Simulated Data.
Go to EZ-VOTE (tab) --> Tools --> Settings --> Other Settings):
