Sometimes you need to fit a lot of text in the Question Text area. Other times your question has a a few long answers that just don't seem to fit the slide, the vote counter, and the chart/graph...
Here's what we've seen done and recommend doing in such cases.
Revise & Reduce
You know that quote from Mark Twain: “I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.” Don't be that guy/gal.
PowerPoint should only be your background. People won't read large amount of text. It has to make sense to them in a few seconds, so be short and make it clear.
Use Two Slides
If you absolutely have to have a lot of text to explain everything that pertains to your question (e.g. a medical case study), then make sure that you use a non-polling slide to 'lead into' the polling one and give your audience the best information possible to make a good decision/vote on the next slide - the actual polling slide.

Notice how much longer the Question Text and the answers are on the 'lead-in' slide | On the polling slide, the goal is to only fit the most important text |
Change Chart Type
When one type of chart takes up a lot of space, or it simply doesn't work with the amount of text you're trying to fit on a slide, choose another one. After all, you do have 8 of them to choose from.
