Hide the Legend Element on the Horizontal Chart

PROBLEM

Sometimes you don't need the legend that comes with the Horizontal Chart, because you're going to line up the Answer Text (answer choices) with each individual bar in the Horizontal Chart, thus creating a beautiful, clear and easy-to-understand link between data and the Answer Text.

SOLUTION

To turn off the Legend element, go to Tools --> Settings --> Chart --> Legend --> Show/Hide

- Now would be a good time to resize the chart a bit to proportionally fit the slide and its content.

- To reposition the chart under (below) the text, first move the chart object to where it lines up with the answer choices and then right-click on it and select "Send to Back"

- To get he bulk of the the text to line up with your horizontal bars, increase/decrease the line spacing of the answer text via Line Spacing button in the Paragraph section of the Home tab

- To fine-tune the layout, position your text cursor on the line that you want to move down (or up), and select the 'expand' button from the Home --> Paragraph toolbar.

- Then enter the number that you want to move the line by (6 or 12 points is good to start with). You may sometimes need to increase the spacing ABOVE the line you're on, so experiment with changing the UP value, too.

After a few tries, the final result should be a nicely lined-up text with each of the bars:
