Duplicating Slides with Voting Grid object

Modified on Tue, Dec 3 at 8:17 PM

PROBLEM

Voting Grid object doesn't work after copying it from slide to slide.

After you created a slide and inserted the Voting Grid object, then created a new slide and copied the Voting Grid to the second slide, the grid stops working.

SOLUTION

While there should be a more elegant solution to this, due to the restrictions in PowerPoint, we are currently unable to handle the scenario of copying and pasting the Voting Grid object itself.

However, the solution that DOES work is:

- create a slide and format it any way you like

- insert the Voting Grid object and test if it works to your liking

- duplicate the SLIDE (not the just the Grid object) with the Voting Grid already in it

- the new/duplicate slide and the Voting Grid will both work as expected

The second slide in this screenshot was duplicated and both Voting Grids worked (we only used a single keypad in the demonstration)

You can also download the attached presentation and test it yourself. The second slide was created by duplicating the first one (press CTRL + D when you have a slide selected on the left, in the "filmstrip" area, or right-click on it and select Duplicate).

NOTE: You CANNOT duplicate more than one slide at a time to successfully have the Voting Grid work.
