Problem

How do I set up a vote for more than one hundred (100) items, such as Candidate names?

Solution

You'll have to use the Sign-In Slide in our EZ-VOTE plugin for PowerPoint. We are planning on updating our other apps to support this type of voting in the future.

Let's say you have 300 names to vote one. The first problem you'll run into is that you will not be able to show these names on a single slide/screen - they are just too small when there's so many of them.

We recommend using the good-ol' paper device and show all the Candidate names, along with their assigned numbers on a sheet of paper, so that everyone can take their time studying up on them and then choosing the number that corresponds with the name they want to vote for.

Attached is a PowerPoint presentation that you can use to give instructions to the audience (highly recommended) and a sample voting slide we call a "Sign-In Slide". You can access this slide from the EZ-VOTE (tab) --> Insert Question --> Sign-In Slide menu.

The slide does NOT show any voting results after the vote is closed, you have to run a report via EZ-VOTE (tab) --> Reports --> Sign-In Results.

The slide will only show the time left to vote (countdown in the bottom-right) and the vote count (bottom-left).

RECOMMENDED: Do NOT start the clock right away! Even if you have just 10 voters, entering a double-digit, or triple-digit Candidate number while making sure that it's the correct one I needed to enter (and possibly fixing it, or submitting a correction again) WILL TAKE TIME.
Start the clock only when you see that you have close to all, or all of the needed votes from the audience. For example, if you have 200 people in the audience, expect around 200 votes to be shown in the bottom-left corner where the Vote Counter is.

Voter simply presses "1" and "Submit" (paper plane button) to submit a vote for Candidate #1. Or they can press "187" and "Submit" to vote for Candidate #187.

If a mistake is made BEFORE submitting the vote, voter can use the "Backspace" key to fix the error, enter the correct number and then press "Submit".

If a mistake is made AFTER the first submission, for example, I meant to enter "111" and then "Submit", but instead I entered "11", I can enter a new number "111" and then press "Submit" - only the LAST SUBMISSION will be counted.
