CloudVOTE Participant Login Field Management

PROBLEM

1) You're trying to set up the fields that the Participants will see when they are logging into your TownVOTE online/hybrid session, or a web-based CloudVOTE session.

2) You're trying to customize the Voting Grid display (Participant Grid mode) to show the names of your Online Participants.

SOLUTION

1) To configure which fields will be visible to the Participants at login and/or which fields will be required to enter, log into your CloudVOTE account at: my.cloudvote.com. Navigate to the Participants (page), then click on the Global List (tab) and finally, click Manage Columns (button):

Select (check) the boxes next to the column headers that you want the Participants to see and check the Required box next to any of the column headers that you want to to authenticate the Participants against.

You can selectively show the field(s) only to the Operator, or show the same field to both the Operator and Participant.

Only fields that are marked Required (at least one) will be used by the system to validate the entry, authenticate the Participant, and consequently let them into the session without the Operator's consent.

For example, if First Name is optional, but Last Name and Unique ID is Required, the system will only let a Participant into the session if BOTH the Last Name and Unique ID match the entry in the Participant Group selected for this session.

The system will NOT care what the First Name entry is in this case. This is helpful if you think that Participants can make a mistake or enter an alternative First Name spelling, such as "Joe" vs "Joseph", "Kathy" vs "Katie", or "Bob" and "Robert".

Don't forget to click Save when finished.

If you made changes to the column headers in the WebApp, remember to click Refresh Participant Groups button on the Participants (page) --> Online (tab). This is only available if you haven't started the TownVOTE online/hybrid session yet.

2) After you select a specific Participant Group you want to use in TownVOTE for your online/hybrid session, you can customize which fields (of those that you specified via Manage Columns earlier) will be visible in the Voting Grid when using the Participant Grid layout:

These choices do NOT affect the visibility or requirements of the SESSION LOGIN page (joincloudvote.com). They merely show/hide the value that the Participant entered (or didn't) into those fields.
