How does the scoring work in EZ-CATEGORIES?

Modified on Thu, Nov 20, 2014 at 3:32 PM

This article will explain the scoring method used for Team Scoring in EZ-CATEGORIES.

Scoring in our EZ-APP software is calculated by taking the average of all the team member's individual scores.

NOTE: If a team member doesn’t respond to a question, they will be credited with zero points for that question.

Depending on the Team Scoring Type setting specified in the Settings window, the non-response will either be

reflected in the total calculation of the Team’s score (setting = ‘All Pads’) or not (setting = ‘Voting Pads Only’).

(ie. On a 100 point question, 3 Teams with two people on each team vote, Team One - both people get it correct so they get 100 points (100% of the people that voted got the right answer), Team Two - one person votes correctly and one doesn’t so they get 50 points (50% of the people that voted got the right answer) and on Team Three - one person votes correctly and the other doesn’t vote, they would get 100 points (100% of the people that voted got the correct answer.   When the points increase, the scores are still calculated the same way, by percentage.)  see report below.
