Video playback doesn't work in EZ-VOTE Connect (CloudVOTE Mobile Polling)

Problem

EZ-VOTE Connect desktop player (CloudVOTE Mobile Polling app) supports video playback in MP4 format. Embed your videos directly into the PowerPoint (PPTX) file and make sure it's not an external link.

Import them to your CloudVOTE account and sync down to the Connect desktop app (via Content tab), so that you can do polling and present the content (including the video) even offline.


However, sometimes the video playback will not work on Windows 10, since in newer Windows builds, Microsoft has removed its old Windows Media Player component.

We include "FFMPEG" player within our application, but even so, you might have encounter the occasional video playback issue.


Solution

Simply go to the Connect desktop app Settings section (via the "gear" icon):


Then toggle the "Use Windows Media Player" switch back and forth and leave it in the OFF position (Windows 10 users).

This should enable the video playback.
