Set up an identifiable vote in TownVOTE and prevent herd mentality

Modified on Thu, Feb 8 at 5:03 PM

PROBLEM

You need to set up the TownVOTE voting agenda to show voters' names, but prevent 'herd mentality' by hiding the individual results and subtotals (Yes/No/Abstain) until the vote is closed.

SOLUTION

Set up the grid size to your liking, for example, if you have around 20 voters, choose either 9 x 2, or 6 x 3, or if you have a little more participants, maybe 7 x 3 will work for you.

Don't forget to click "Apply to all" button to make all your Participant Grid topics/articles the same size at once.

Then, turn on and off the toggles that make the vote values 'invisible' until you close the vote:

- Show Votes: ON

- Delay Votes: ON

- Show Subtotals: ON

- Delay Subtotals: ON

You can also turn off the Keypad ID if all you need is the name of the person.

Often it helps to change the Box Color to white, so that it is more legible on the big screen/projector.

The resulting voting grid will look something like this DURING the vote:

And this is what the same screen would look like AFTER the vote is closed:
