Clicking on buttons in EZ-VOTE/Get Feedback doesn't work as expected

On certain computers with limited user rights, you may experience that after installing EZ-VOTE/Get Feedback, the Meridia/Add-Ins tab (in Office 2007 and 2010) doesn't appear, or if it does, clicking on the buttons within the EZ-VOTE/Get Feedback toolbar doesn't work as it should.

You should contact your IT support to resolve this issue. They must log in to your computer as a "local admin" and install the EZ-VOTE software for you. Have them install the Meridia receiver drivers, too...as they will be needed to use the keypads with the software.

The inability to launch PowerPoint after installing EZ-VOTE is sometimes linked to the receiver base not connected, or not licensed.

Please visit our AppCenter (AppCenter) and enter your base serial number in the Activate Bases area. This will generate a license on your computer and PowerPoint should run correctly after that.

The problem might also be caused by an interference with another Add-In that is installed on the computer.

We have identified a few such Add-Ins:

Smart Board by SmartBoard Technologies
Articulate by Articulate
Documentum by EMC²
Adobe Presenter by Adobe
Webroot SecureAnyware (AntiVirus)
Norton Symantec Endpoint Protection
Bluetooth Add-in (Bluetooth headset, mouse or other transmitter controls)

Start the troubleshooting by temporarily disabling the above add-ins and verifying that EZ-VOTE/Get Feedback works as expected.

NOTE: You may have to restart PowerPoint after disabling the Add-Ins.

If this provided you with a workable solution, keep your system in this state and continue to use EZ-VOTE/Get Feedback.

If you need to use any of the above Add-Ins, you might have to install EZ-VOTE/Get Feedback on another machine, which will be dedicated to the ARS function.

We're trying to find a solution that would resolve the interference with other software and will update your version of EZ-VOTE/Get Feedback when the patch becomes available.
