Change Keypad Range to Improve the Polling Speed (Vote Collection)

Your keypads come preconfigured to a default Max Keypad ID value.

This is to ensure that majority of our clients can immediately start using the keypads without any additional configuration.

However, depending on the design of the keypad, room dimensions and interior components, distance between the keypads and the receiver, as well as the size of the audience, you can adjust the Keypad ID range to increase the speed of vote collection.

For example, if your audience size is just 100 and your Keypad ID range setting is: 1 - 500, then the base receiver is 'wasting' time polling (asking for responses) from keypads that don't exist, or are not voting at the moment.

Pruning down the Max ID number to 100 will result in faster voting speed.

In case of the EZ-VOTE HD and EZ-VOTE PRO keypads, the Max Keypad ID is already set to 100, which limits the keypad range (or polling groups) to only 1 - 100.

If your keypad order exceeds 100, please be sure to follow the steps below to increase the keypad range to 1 - 500, or another Max Keypad ID that fits your range.

You will only have to do this once on each computer where the USB receiver will be used.

To do this, simply navigate to Tools --> Base Manager and then click on Advanced Settings.

From here enter the desired number and click Apply Settings.

You should see a confirmation of the new settings on the right, in the "Reply from Base" window.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that the keypad range you select is the valid one and that you didn't leave any keypads out of it.

For example, if you select a range from 1 to 100 and you actually try to use keypad 101, it will not be able to cast a vote.
