You may encounter a problem or at least a warning like this when working with presentations created in Office 2003 that are being opened in office 2007 and higher:
We need to convert your old .PPT file to the newest .PPTX format in order for the polling functions to work, so when you click OK, we'll automatically open the "Save As" dialog and ask that you save the file (possibly under a new name).
Make sure that you choose the ".pptx" Presentation format:
If you cancel that process, your file will be closed, since we can't create polling functions in it.
If you must open the file for some reason and don't need to use the EZ-VOTE functions, you'll have to disable our plugin via the File --> Options --> Add-Ins menu before opening the file again.
REMEMBER: once you save the old file in the new format (PPTX instead of PPT), the description/type of it in Windows Explorer should no longer read "Microsoft PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation".
Instead, you should ONLY open the file type called "Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation"
When looking at your files in Windows Explorer, you may notice a slightly different file icon and the Type description when comparing the PPT and PPTX PowerPoint files:
