Windows, or the application that runs within Windows (e.g. EZ-VOTE, Excel, or PowerPoint) produces an error log when something goes wrong, so the developers can look at the root cause causing the issue.
Here's an example of such error message along with the path where the log files are stored:
The entire path in the example above is: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Temp\
The log files and any subfolders in this location are temporary and hard to get to via the usual Windows Explorer file & folder navigation.
Here's a useful shortcut that you can use to get to them anyway:
You can open your Windows Explorer (File Explorer) and type directly in the address bar: "%temp%" (without the quotes, but use the % sign.
Press Enter and the path will translate to:
After that, simply locate the file that's mentioned in the actual error message.
Another avenue that gets you to the Temp folder is to click on the Start button and simply start typing: "%temp%" (again, without the quotes) and clicking on the "best match" search suggestion.
