"Interop Excel" Error When Launching EZ-VOTE Connect

Problem

After the installation of the EZ-VOTE Connect app, when launching it, you get a "invocation of the constructor on type EZVOTEConnect.MainWindow" error with reference to "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel"



Solution

This error usually means a couple of things:

1) There could be multiple versions of Office installed on the computer and EZ-VOTE cannot determine which one are you trying to 'bind' or 'link' it to. Uninstall the version you don't need and keep only the version that you intend to use. Reboot your computer after the uninstall is completed and also try to reinstall the EZ-VOTE Connect app, so that new, proper links to Office can be created.

2) The installation of EZ-VOTE Connect didn't go well, or was run with insufficient user rights and needs to be retried. For solution, see related articles below.
