EXT-S Base and EZ-VOTE 5S clickers are not connecting/not voting

Modified on Fri, Aug 25, 2023 at 7:55 AM

This issue is reportedly limited to only the newest models of our hardware: EXT-S base and EZ-VOTE 5S keypads and specific version of EZ-VOTE Connect (v3.0.247) while using the TownVOTE app.

EZ-VOTE 5S keypads feature an orange logo, bolder blue color, as well as larger, bolder YES/NO/ABSTAIN labels on the front fascia. They are also labeled as "MD: EZ-VOTE 5S" on the back.

The EXT-S base is labeled as "MD: EXT-S"

PROBLEM

After you received the new EXT-S base(s) and EZ-VOTE 5S keypads, and use the TownVOTE app to open a vote, the clickers don't communicate (don't vote) with the base receiver and votes are not received.

The clicker would normally show an antenna with some bars as an indicator of the signal strength, but you see just the antenna without any bars.

The clicker would normal enter the 'voting mode' and start showing a "T" and "R" on top of the display, and when you press the voting button (e.g., 1, 2 or 3), a NUMBER, not a letter would show on the display along with "OK" when the vote is confirmed.

But this is also not happening when you're experiencing this issue.

SOLUTION

We have a solution where we can manually register the required libraries (DLLs) in the Windows registry system, using an app that requires administrator rights.

Please schedule a call with us, or give us a call at 610-260-6800 x2 (Support) and make sure that you have your IT on hand if you don't have admin rights assigned to your Windows login.
