"Unexpected Character Encountered While Parsing Value" Error Message

Problem

Some clients have reported issues logging into the EZ-VOTE Connect app (activation of the license).

The error that's shown to the user reads: Unexpected character encountered while parsing value: <. Path ", line 0, position 0.

The issue is most likely caused by the app not being able to connect to the internet when validating your login credentials.



Solution

The solution is to ask you IT to help you with configuring proxy settings in the Connect app, so that the program can "pass through" your company firewall to authenticate the validity of the license.


Proxy settings can be found on the main Connect Dashboard screen, and you'll need your IT to provide you with:

- Proxy Server Address

- Proxy Server Port

- User Name

- Password
